It's Bugs Bunny Day (7-27) 7-27

Bugs first said, "What's up, Doc?" in a cartoon called 'A Wild Hare', directed by Tex Avery and released by Warner Bros. in 1940. Avery (from Texas) wanted to call him Jack Rabbit, but he was finally named "Bugs" - the nickname of another cartoon director. Food companies begged to have him chew on celery or brocolli, but carrots were always the trademark of the "waskely wabbit". A recent survey ranks him as the most popular animated character in the world today!
